When designers Stephanie Sparks and Gail Cole (Cole Design) needed stunning black and white photography to help showcase the beauty of North Carolina in the public spaces at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham, they turned to Kaleidoscope for help.
Gail Cole, owner of Cole design, described the challenge of the project this way: “Cole Design’s challenge for public area art was to portray the Sheraton Imperial’s design direction of black and white images with focus on timeless macro design elements. Our design team, with the direction of the property ownership team, developed a concept of celebrating the state of North Carolina. The team chose Kaleidoscope and their talented staff to partner in researching photography that would meet the vision and feel of the property and reach out to the Sheraton Imperial’s clientele of companies headquartered in the region and local groups hosting meetings and reunions. The result was 62 North Carolina landmark images individually labeled with a brief description of the history of each image.”
The artwork has been so well-received by clients of the Sheraton Imperial, that the hotel receives requests from guests wanting to purchase pieces.
